The honest answer: you'll want a car
Casa Nakhla is a private hacienda in the hills of Camuy, not a walkable town center — the pool and grounds cover a lot of your trip, but beaches, Río Camuy Cave Park, restaurants, and day trips like Gozalandia Waterfalls are all a drive away. Almost every guest rents a car, and we'd recommend you do too.
Parking and EV charging at the villa
Parking
Free, for 8 cars, plus a garage
EV charging
Tesla Level-2 charger on site
Grass parking is fine if the garage front fills up — just keep vehicles inside the gated fence rather than on the road, where cars get ticketed.
One van, or several cars?
Casa Nakhla sleeps up to 16 across its bedrooms and sofabeds, and groups that size usually split between one or two larger vehicles (an SUV or van) and a couple of smaller cars, rather than renting a car per couple. Either way, there's parking for 8 vehicles plus the garage, so the villa can handle a full group's worth of cars if that's simpler for your party.
Rideshare and taxis
Uber and Lyft really only operate in the San Juan metro area — out here in Camuy, don't count on rideshare being available. Taxis exist but are scarce; the hosts' own go-to is Roman Taxi & Transportation (787-941-2660), which also has a van for groups. It's worth booking rides ahead rather than trying to hail one on the spot.
Good questions
Is there an airport shuttle to Casa Nakhla?+
No — guests drive themselves or arrange transport in advance; there's no shuttle service to the villa.
Where do we park?+
Inside the gated fence — there's free parking for 8 cars plus a garage. Grass parking is fine if the garage front is full; never park on the road in front of the gate.
Can we charge an electric vehicle?+
Yes — there's a Tesla Level-2 charger on site.
