North coast itineraries: 5-day, 7-day, and multi-generation plans

How we build these

None of these plans fill every hour — a villa with a heated pool, waterslide, and game room is worth spending real time in, so we treat pool days as part of the itinerary, not a gap in it. Drive times below are from Casa Nakhla in Camuy.

5-day family plan

• Day 1 — Arrival, settle in, pool.
• Day 2 — Morning at Peñón Brusi beach (~10 min), afternoon back at the pool.
• Day 3 — Río Camuy Cave Park (~15 min), one of the largest cave systems in the hemisphere. Check current hours the day before and go early; it's the busiest thing near the villa.
• Day 4 — Jobos Beach, Isabela (~30 min), for surf-town beach bars and sunset.
• Day 5 — Slow morning, pack up, checkout by 10:00 AM.

7-day full-week plan

Stays of 7 nights or more come with free VIP perks worth planning around: a 10% weekly discount, free grocery pre-stocking, a free night under the 200-inch outdoor movie screen, and free spa heating for the spillway hot tub. Ask the hosts about each when you book.

• Day 1 — Arrival, settle in, pool.
• Day 2 — Rest day at the villa.
• Day 3 — Gozalandia Waterfalls (~40 min) — see the full guide — paired with Jobos Beach (~30 min) on the way back.
• Day 4 — Río Camuy Cave Park (~15 min), confirming it's open first, then an afternoon at Peñón Brusi (~10 min).
• Day 5 — Pool day; request your free movie night for this evening.
• Day 6 — A second beach day or an easy day trip further out, at your own pace.
• Day 7 — Slow morning, pack up, checkout by 10:00 AM.

Multi-generation / mixed-ages variation

With grandparents, younger kids, and teens under one roof, we'd stretch the pacing rather than compress it: one cave or waterfall outing instead of two, more pool mornings, and Peñón Brusi over a longer beach day since it's the closest and calmest option. A larger van works better than splitting into several cars for this kind of group — see our getting-around guide — and a private chef night, arranged directly with one of the hosts' vetted chefs, can turn one evening into a rest day instead of a restaurant outing.

• Day 2 — Peñón Brusi beach morning (~10 min), pool afternoon.
• Day 3 — Río Camuy Cave Park (~15 min), confirming it's open, kept to a single outing for the day.
• Day 4 — Rest day at the villa — game room, pool, no driving.
• Day 5 (on a 7-night stay) — Jobos Beach (~30 min) for whoever wants surf and sun; pool for anyone who'd rather stay in.
• Final day — Slow morning, pack up, checkout by 10:00 AM.
