Beaches

- Playa Jobos, Isabela (~30 min) — surf, beach bars, and sunsets.
- Playa Montones, Isabela (~30 min) — protected coves, good for snorkeling.
- Crash Boat Beach, Aguadilla (~40–45 min) — colorful fishing boats and food kiosks; see our Aguadilla day-trip guide.

Caves & Nature
Río Camuy Cave Park (~15 min) is one of the largest cave systems in the hemisphere, and it's open — go early, since it's the busiest attraction near the villa. See our full Río Camuy guide for what to wear and when to go. Cueva Ventana in Arecibo (~30 min) is a second cave worth its own trip: a cliffside cave with a well-known valley view. Gozalandia Waterfalls in San Sebastián (~40 min) is a two-tier waterfall with swimming holes at the base of each drop — see our full Gozalandia guide.
Day-Trip Towns
Arecibo (~30–40 min) has an open-around-the-clock beach, a coastal cave reserve, and the hosts' favorite restaurant on this stretch of coast — see our full Arecibo day-trip guide. Aguadilla (~40–45 min), home to the BQN airport, has two well-reviewed beaches worth a full day — see our Aguadilla day-trip guide.
Food
Salitre Mesón Costero in Arecibo (~20 min) is the hosts' personal favorite — ocean-view seafood and a paella worth the drive. Closer to home, Flamingo Bakery in Camuy is a quick stop for breakfast and takeout sandwiches. As with any small business out here, check current hours before you go — they shift.
Good questions
How far is everything from Casa Nakhla?+
Nearly everything worth doing is within about 45 minutes: Peñón Brusi beach is the closest at 10 minutes, Río Camuy Cave Park is about 15, Jobos Beach and Cueva Ventana are each about 30, and Gozalandia Waterfalls is about 40.
Is Río Camuy Cave Park open?+
Yes. It's about 15 minutes from the villa and one of the largest cave systems in the hemisphere. See our full Río Camuy guide for what to expect and when to go.
Do we need a rental car?+
Yes — there's no meaningful rideshare coverage out here and taxis are scarce, so book a rental car in advance rather than counting on one at the airport.
